Sharon Tate
January 24, 1943 - August 9, 1969
Sharon Tate, a victim of the 1969 "Manson Family" murders was born in Dallas, Texas and was the first of three daughters born to Colonel Paul and Doris Tate. Even as a child Sharon was very beautiful. At six months of age Sharon won her first beauty contest; she was crowned Miss Tiny Tot of Dallas, Texas. Her very first jobs included modeling. The actress, she was described as very kind, and beautiful both inside and out.
Abigail Folger
was heiress to the famous Folger's coffee empire.
Abigail was interested in art - spending time painting when she was had the time to do so. Besides painting, Abigail was very talented in playing the piano. She attended the Catalina School for Girls in Carmel, California, moving on to
Radcliff College where she graduated with honors, finally ending up at Harvard University where she did graduate work and received a degree in Art History. In 1967 she took a job at the University of California art museum in Berkeley, California. In Los Angeles, she found "something real to live for" by working in the Watts ghetto as a social worker and a taste of show business glamour through acquaintances in the television and motion picture world.
Wojciech Frykowski
played a thief in Polanski's short film, "Mammals." He married twice and fathered a son, Bartek. Later, he moved to Paris, France. In early 1968, author Jerzy Kosinski introduced Frykowski to Abigail Folger, heiress to the Folger Coffee fortune. In August, Frykowski and Folger left New York and moved to their new home at 2774 Woodstock Road, Hollywood, California. In March 1969, Frykowski and Folger temporarily moved to 10050 Cielo Drive in Beverly Hills. They were
house-sitting for Roman and Sharon while the pair were in Europe. Sharon had returned early due to her advanced pregnancy; Voytec and Abigail continued staying on Cielo Drive, even after Sharon returned so someone would be on hand should she go into early labor. Roman had been expected home --two days after the brutal murders.
Jay Sebring's
style of cutting hair started the male hair care revolution.
He opened the first male hair salon in LA and quickly became a celebrity. His clients
included Warren Beatty and Steve McQueen. After Kirk Douglas' request, Sebring did the hair styling for the movie Spartacus.
Sebring was buried at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan on Wednesday August 13,
1969
